My husband travels a lot and so my two daughters and I are home alone. Our neighborhood is pretty safe but I wanted a little extra security. We live in a gated community, but sometimes, it’s more enticing. I encountered an Amazon driver that was a little skeptical and I felt like they hire everybody, and that was what freaked me out the most. I researched online and a person from ADT came here to speak with us. Their price seemed really good and it has been in the business for a long time so they’re reliable. Their people have all been very informative and the guy that installed the system did a really good job. We got the basic features and it was fantastic. We also have an option to add features in the future. It’s a great system and a great price for what you get.

I like SafeStreets’ security system and I’ve found its features to be good. The cost was really good too. However, they were doing automatic payments, but I didn’t know that. Their reps took care of that right away though. Also, there was a time that we accidentally couldn’t get to the alarm quickly enough and their response time was really good. SafeStreets is worth getting.

Good company! I have never had any problems with them. Always there for us, and have never let us down. We love the abilities in our system when we are out of town, or just when we stay at home

Weather Tip: During a Hurricane

During a Hurricane

If your local authorities have not issued a mandatory evacuation, use these hurricane safety tips to stay safer in the midst of a hurricane.

  • Keep up to date with conditions by staying tuned to the radio or television.
  • DO NOT go outside until you hear from authorities that the storm has passed your area completely.
  • Stay away from all windows and exterior doors.
  • Leave your home only in extreme circumstances (i.e., if your home is damaged or if authorities instruct you to do so).
  • If you lose power, avoid a power surge by turning off all major appliances.
  • Electrocution is also a threat if using electrical equipment in your home, so stay away from anything with running electricity and do not use the telephone except in an emergency.

Post Hurricane Safety

What you do after the hurricane passes can be just as important as what you do before and during the storm. Here are a few tips for what to focus on afterwards:

  • Stay informed of any updated instructions from local officials.
  • Only return to your home when it’s deemed safe.
  • Avoid downed power lines and other dangerous debris.
  • DO NOT attempt to walk or drive through floodwaters. It’s easy to overestimate your ability to navigate floods, but it can be extremely life threatening.
  • Take pictures of property damage to file an insurance claim.
  • Try preventing further damage to your home as insurance may not cover anything that occurs after the storm.

Practicing good hurricane safety might seem daunting, but a mix of common sense and preparedness can make all the difference for the safety of you and your family.

SafeStreets USA is Celebrating our one millionth customer

On June 15, 2017, we recognized our 1 millionth customer with a ceremony at our Garner, NC office. During the meeting, SafeStreetsUSA CFO Scott MacArthur gave customer Elizabeth Kelly a plaque recognizing her as the 1 millionth customer as well at $1,346 – the cash equivalent of 1 million minutes of monitoring. SafeStreetsUSA is an ADT authorized dealer.

“It was an honor to meet and recognize Elizabeth,” said MacArthur. “We are proud of this achievement and we look forward to providing a great product and service to our next 1 million customers in the years ahead.”

SafeStreetsUSA is a consolidation of several ADT dealers who started in the industry 20 years ago, including current partners Kevin Gaylord, Mark Sessa and Curtiss Weinstein as well as retired owners Todd Herman, Barry Simmons and Mike Robson. Each grew their own ADT dealership in a different part of the country and have consolidated as SafeStreetsUSA over the past 10 years to become a national company with a footprint covering almost 90% of the population of the U.S.

SafeStreetsUSA set to serve the next 1 million customers
The company won’t be resting on any laurels, however. Recognizing the 1 millionth customer is both a milestone and a benchmark for SafeStreetsUSA and the vision for the future. “We want to continue to grow the company and provide great products and services to each customer,” said MacArthur. “We strive daily to provide a best-in-class customer experience throughout every part of the sales and installation process. There has been great change in the industry in recent years and there are lots of great products that enhance our customers’ daily lives and improve their security, whether they’re at home or away.”

MacArthur emphasized that the company takes the responsibility of protecting customers’ families, homes and possessions very seriously. People become customers of SafeStreetsUSA for a variety of reasons. Some want the newest in home automation, while others have had a life change such as a baby or a traumatic event like a burglary or fire.

“Regardless of why they come to us,” he said, “we strive to offer each one the best products and protection for their home and their needs.”
