Foxborough is a town in Norfolk CountyMassachusetts, United States, about 22 miles (35 km) southwest of Boston, 18 miles (29 km) northeast of ProvidenceRhode Island and about 73 miles (117 km) northwest of Cape Cod. Foxborough is part of the Greater Boston area. The population was 16,865 at the 2010 census. “Foxborough” is the official spelling of the town name,[3] although the alternative spelling “Foxboro” is also frequently used. This alternative spelling is used by the United States Postal Service as the correct form by which to address mail to recipients in the town, although both can be processed by their system.[4] The sign on the post office reads “Foxboro”.[citation needed]

The town is best known as the site of Gillette Stadium, home of the New England Patriots of the National Football League (NFL) and the New England Revolution of Major League Soccer (MLS). Settled in 1704 and incorporated in 1778, the town of Foxborough was named for Charles James Fox, a Whig member of Parliament and a staunch supporter of the Colonies in the years leading up to the American Revolution. The town was once home to the world’s largest straw hat factory. Founded by local businessman E.P. Carpenter, the Union Straw Works burned to the ground in the early 20th century. The town post office now stands on the site. Foxborough was composed of small neighborhood communities until the early 1900s.

Foxborough, Massachusetts Home Security

The SafeStreets rep was good. He walked me through the system and he was very thorough. He set everything up for me, so I really didn’t have to do anything. I got a package but he did mention that if I wanna add more stuff, then I can always call and get those things added. Also, I was supposed to get a gift card when I got the package deal but I never received it. So far, they perform very good. The videos and stuff are very clear. I use their smartphone feature. I can do everything through it. Other than watching the videos, I can arm and disarm everything, and it’s cool. Sometimes I get delays and I think it’s because of my network provider, but overall, it’s clear and good. The cost is good too.

Burglaries Cost More than You Think

Being the victim of a home burglary can be a very distressing experience. Stress may become compounded once the financial impact of a burglary becomes apparent. According to the FBI, burglary victims in 2011 faced, on average, nearly $2,200 in property loss. This number doesn’t take into consideration additional expenses in the form of lost wages, insurance deductibles, and various other costs. Residents of some cities were victims of as many as 109101 property crimes and 27459 burglaries in 2011. Several of these burglaries could have been prevented had homeowners installed home security systems, which can deter potential intruders from breaking into a residence.

Why Massachusetts Homeowners Choose ADT Monitoring Systems

There are many different reasons Massachusetts residents choose ADT Security Monitoring to help protect their home & family from burglary and other disasters. But we thought we’d list just a few reasons for choosing SafeStreets USA and ADT.

Multiple types of protection. ADT monitored security systems not only help protect against burglaries and home invasion, but also helps against fire and even carbon monoxide poisoning. An alarm can help wake your family in case of smoke and fire. A panic button can also help contact police or fire department during an emergency, perhaps even saving your life.

Security equipment that’s easy to use. With just a push of a button you can easily arm and disarm your system. And with the panic button your family can quickly alert emergency response such as police or the need of an ambulance.

Dependable equipment and confident monitoring your home security system is monitored 24 hours a day and 365 days per year by trained staff at the ready. ADT provides great redundancy with 6 US monitoring centers your home is never unprotected. If one center is down then another automatically starts monitoring your home.

Quick deployment of first responders. At any time your alarm is triggered or you push the panic button, ADT’s monitoring centers will quickly try and verify your situation. If you are having an actual emergency ADT will immediately notify police or fire responders with your exact location and details.

Tip of the week: Pets

Staying Cool and Keeping Warm

One of the main concerns when leaving your pet at home during extreme weather is how they would fare in sweltering heat or the blisteringly cold. Heat, especially, can put your canine friend at risk. Did you know that a dog is susceptible to heat stroke when the heat index reaches 105° F? And that can be reached during 90° F weather?

In the past, pet owners would simply set the thermostat before they left for the day and hope for the best regardless of rising temperatures and the inherent inconsistencies of their systems.

Smart thermostats are great for pet safety. These devices enable you to take full control of the temperature of your home to suit your pet’s needs completely. This is due to the fact that your smart thermostat can be accessed by your smartphone, tablet, or computer regardless of where you are.

Environmental Dangers

Just as we don’t want to think something as catastrophic as a fire or carbon monoxide incident would never happen to us, we certainly don’t think a pet would get in that type of danger when we aren’t around. But the sad truth is that these horrific occurrences can and do happen.

While we all have smoke detectors in our homes that make those loud, irritating, high-pitched noises when it comes in contact with smoke, they are not enough to keep your pet safe. Since a regular smoke alarm only alerts the people inside a home, your furry friends won’t be able to take action.

But today’s monitored smoke detectors can now send for help from the fire department immediately and contact you at any sign of a fire in your home. This is the perfect pet safety solution to environmental dangers. Carbon monoxide poisoning also can be prevented with a monitored carbon monoxide detector—at any sign of a gas leakage, help will be contacted promptly.

Security for Pets

Above all else, you want your pet to be safe when you aren’t around. So how can smart security devices help with pet safety and assist in kicking your worry to the curb?

Much like smart thermostats, today’s home security systems can be the perfect answer to your pet worries. Wouldn’t it be great to be able to physically see your pets throughout the day, instead of simply wondering about their well-being? With a home security system that includes video surveillance, you can now access a live feed of your pets whenever and wherever.

Motion sensors can also be very helpful when leaving your pet alone for most of the day. For example, if there is break in, or a disturbed sensor in your home, your security system sends an alert to your smartphone or device that takes a picture of the disturbance. You can find out immediately if your home and pets are in danger from a burglar or if it’s just a false alarm caused by your pet getting into mischief while you’re away.

As cases of pet theft continue to increase, it’s important to have complete awareness of your home and pet.
